Hey BBQ enthusiasts and foodies, happy Pi Day! Today, we're stepping up our culinary game with a mouthwatering twist on the classic meat pie. Get ready to indulge in the smoky goodness of our Smoked Brisket Meat Pie featuring Humphrey's Divine Bovine seasoning and Humphrey's Awesome Sauce.

The Inspiration Behind the Pie

At Humphrey's BBQ, we're all about pushing the boundaries of flavor. What better way to celebrate Pi Day than with a savory pie infused with the rich, smoky taste of our signature smoked brisket? We've taken tender, juicy brisket cooked to perfection with Humphrey's Divine Bovine seasoning and paired it with a medley of carrots, celery, and onions, all bound together with a delectable sauce made with our very own Humphrey's Awesome Sauce. The result? A pie that's bursting with flavor and guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds.

Crafting the Perfect Pie

Creating the perfect Smoked Brisket Meat Pie is a labor of love. We start by sautéing finely diced onions and minced garlic until they're golden and fragrant. Next, we add in our succulent smoked brisket, shredded to perfection and seasoned with Humphrey's Divine Bovine. To amp up the flavor, we toss in a colorful array of diced carrots and celery, adding a touch of sweetness and crunch to the filling. But the secret ingredient? Humphrey's Awesome Sauce. This tangy, savory sauce brings the whole dish together, infusing every bite with an irresistible depth of flavor.

Into the Smoker it Goes

Once our filling is ready, it's time to assemble our pie. We line a pie dish with a flaky pie crust and spoon in our brisket and vegetable mixture. A top crust seals the deal, creating a golden, flaky lid that's just waiting to be devoured. Into the smoker it goes, where it's bathed in the fragrant smoke of oak and hickory wood chips, infusing the pie with that irresistible smoky flavor we all know and love.

As we celebrate Pi Day, we invite you to join us in savoring every mouthwatering bite of our Smoked Brisket Meat Pie. Whether you're enjoying it with your favorite BBQ sides or simply on its own, this pie is sure to be a hit at any Pi Day gathering. So fire up your smoker, grab your pie dish, and let's make this Pi Day one to remember. Cheers to good food, great company, and the endless possibilities of Pi!

  • 1 medium-sized smoked brisket (cooked with Humphrey's Divine Bovine seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely diced celery
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Humphrey's Awesome Sauce
  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade if preferred)
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water) for brushing

  1. Preheat your Humphrey's smoker to 225°F (107°C) using your favorite wood chips or chunks for smoking. Oak or hickory pairs well with brisket.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add finely diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent and fragrant.

  3. While the onions cook, shred the smoked brisket into bite-sized pieces, discarding any excess fat.

  4. Add the shredded brisket to the skillet with the onions and garlic, stirring to combine.

  5. Add diced carrots and finely diced celery to the skillet, mixing them in with the brisket mixture.

  6. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, flour, and Humphrey's Awesome Sauce until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the brisket and vegetables evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Roll out one of the pie crusts and line the bottom of a pie dish with it. Spoon the brisket and vegetable mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly.

  8. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the top of the brisket filling. Seal the edges of the pie crusts together and crimp with a fork to create a decorative border.

  9. Brush the top of the pie crust with the egg wash for a golden finish.

  10. Place the pie dish in the preheated smoker and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is heated through.

  11. Once done, remove the pie from the smoker and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

  12. Enjoy your Smoked Brisket Meat Pie with Carrots, Celery, Onions, and Humphrey's Awesome Sauce hot, with your favorite BBQ sides or a crisp salad on the side!
