This spinach and artichoke dip is a staple in my house whether it's an appetizer or dinner itself, this recipe will top any others you've had before! The secret ingredient? Humphrey's BBQ Crack! It steps up this flavor profile from good to absolutely phenomenal! Ready to try your hand at smoked excellence?
You will need:
- Large mixing bowl
- Mixing utensil (I prefer a silicone spatula)
- Smoker-safe pan or dish
- A smoker (Humphrey's is the best obviously...)
- Wood chunks of your choice
- 10 Oz frozen spinach
- 14 Oz artichoke hearts
- 8 Oz cream cheese
- 1/4 Cup of sour cream
- 1/4 Cup of Mayonnaise (+ points if its Duke’s)
- 1/4 Cup grated parmesan
- 1 Cup mozzarella
- 2 Tablespoons of Humphrey’s BBQ Crack
How to:
- Start your Humphrey’s smoker and get to 275 degrees! If you don't have a Humphrey's smoker you can use your oven.
- Combine all your ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir until evenly incorporated.
- Add to an aluminum pan (Or any smoker-safe pan/ dish) and form into an even layer.
- Add wood chunks of your choice to your firebox (I used apple, but it’s just what I had).
- Put your pan of deliciousness in your smoker and wait about 30 minutes.
- Check on your dip and stir to make sure everything is still evenly incorporated. Add mozzarella to the top of the mixture, measure with your heart.
- Once mozzarella is melted and maybe browned enough for your liking (You can always take it out of the smoker and broil it for the desired effect), it's time to remove it from the smoker, plate up, and enjoy!
- Serve with Pita's, tortilla chips, or Baggets.
