Did you know that you can use a Humphrey's BBQ smoker for desserts? Are you scrambling to find the perfect gift for the Mother Figures in your life? You've come to the right place! This simple and delicious recipe will add excitement to any meal you have planned! You can also store these in mason jars for up to a week.
2 pounds raw pecan halves
2 large egg whites
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of light brown sugar
3 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
Preparing the Smoker
Preheat smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit, some decide to use a flavored wood to add that extra sweetness and flavor.
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
In a small-medium bowl, combine all cinnamon sugar ingredients and stir.
Prepare and Smoke Pecans
In a kitchen mixer add two egg whites and vanilla extract. Mix the egg whites on high until the whites are whipped with stiff peaks.
To help with the cinnamon sugar coating stick to the pecans, coat the pecans in the egg whites with a spoon. Toss the egg white covered pecans with the cinnamon sugar coating, and then lay them out on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place the baking sheet on the smoker, and smoke for 60 minutes, tossing once halfway though.
