Happy New Year everyone!  It's good to be back at it in the Humphrey's Plant after a little time off for the holidays!  As I sit here I am looking back to the things that we ate over the holiday break, as I must say, there was a lot of bacon.  Good Bacon!  Item as famous as a sausage fatty, wrapped in bacon, the ever so popular ABT's (atomic buffalo turds), and bacon wrapped tater tots were popular with my nephew.  So for the month of January, I am dedicated my blog entries to all things BACON!  Here you will...

Bacon Salt

Everything tastes better with a little bit of seasoning.   What about Bacon Salt!  A'mazing! 500g/1 pound bacon 1.5 tablespoons good quality sea salt 2 teaspoons ground black pepper  Step 1 - Preheat oven to 180C/350F and place a rack on top of a baking tray (line with foil if you want to minimise the cleaning necessary). Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

This recipe for bourbon whiskey BBQ sauce is undoubtedly delish. Ingredients1/2 onion, minced4 cloves garlic, minced3/4 cup bourbon whiskey1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper1/2 tablespoon salt2 cups ketchup1/4 cup tomato paste1/3 cup cider vinegar2 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce1/2 cup packed brown sugar1/3 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or to tasteDirectionsIn a large skillet over medium heat, combine the onion, garlic, and whiskey.
