Kingpin #957 — Ironwork Series
(Pictures are in progress pictures during the build)
Kingpin #957 (larger than the Bootlegger) is a true one-of-one build, hand-crafted from steel as thick as ¼″ and built without compromise. This direct-cook style smoker features three full levels of cooking space, giving you flexibility whether you’re running straight fire, managing heat zones, or dialing in longer cooks.
The cooking chamber includes rack sizes of 17″ × 42-1/2″ (stay in place) on the upper level and two 26″ × 42-1/2″ racks (middle: stay in place, Bottom: fixed) below. Overall height measures 59″ to the top of the stacks, 56″ wide including the handle, with the body itself measuring 48″ wide, 28″ deep, and 52″ tall including the base.
Built to cook with real fire, the Kingpin comes equipped with two hardwood log baskets (different design from the Bottlegger) for burning wood the way it’s meant to be burned. The lower rack can be used to run water pans or diffuser plates (sold separately) for additional heat management and moisture control.
Finished with 6″ hard rubber casters for easy movement and stability, Kingpin #957 isn’t mass-produced, replicated, or softened for volume. It’s built tough, numbered with intent, and designed to work.
One build. One number. No duplicates.
Kingpin #957 is finished in raw steel with a natural patina and has been oiled to begin the seasoning process. This initial oiling protects the surface while allowing the steel to develop character over time, much like a well-used piece of shop equipment. The smoker will be been test fired, and the interior seasoning process is already underway, giving this pit a head start toward the rich, worked-in finish that comes from real use and real fire.
